About the Book:

When fairy tales turn into nightmares…

Ellie Aubrey has spent most of her unnaturally long life hiding her extraordinary abilities from the world. On the run from the shapeshifting wolves who murdered her family, she risks discovery in order to secretly watch over another group of similarly gifted people, determined they won’t suffer the same fate.

Alex Jenner has come home to protect his family from an unknown danger lurking in the woods. Suspicious of the new girl in town, he challenges Ellie in ways that will spark one of two possible outcomes: they’ll spontaneously combust, or she’ll lose control of the one power she’s fought so hard to contain.

In this fairy tale, the dragon the prince must slay is also the princess who holds his heart.

‘Blue Violet’ is the type of book that makes me want to press pause on the world (wink wink!!), snuggle in a blanket and read it from start to finish. – Kirsty Vizard, All In One Place

Abigail Owen has done a remarkable job creating a world that blends myth, magic and fantasy while creating characters that are truly “nice” in spite of their potential to be deadly if needed. – Dianne, Tome Tender

This urban fantasy has everything that good urban fantasy needs to have–whether for adults or teens: a sacrificial, powerful Warrior protagonist who gets into trouble because of personal integrity (rather than immaturity, narcissism or downright stupidity), a loyal cadre of friends (AKA a family of affiliation) who look out for each other, strong villains who provide plenty of conflict for the protagonist, and excellent fantasy world-building. – Kate McMurry

Excerpt:

Alex gave her an adorable lopsided grin, and her heartbeat picked up in response. “I also just finished a run.”

“In this weather?” Ellie teased. She was rewarded with a deep chuckle that danced up and down her spine.

“Hey, maybe we could run together some time,” he suggested. Ellie gave silent thanks that he hadn’t noticed her reaction to him.

“Maybe….” Ellie nodded and smiled to take the sting out of what could’ve been perceived as a rejection.

Suddenly he leaned forward and touched her arm lightly. “You do that a lot, you know.”

Trying not to pull away from his touch, it was Ellie’s turn to raise her eyebrows in surprise. “Do what?”

“Answer with something vague.” He sat back, letting her breathe normally again.

“Do I?” Ellie feigned surprise. Impressive. Most people don’t even notice when I’m giving vague answers.

“There you go again!”

“Huh.” Ellie grimaced and tried a different approach. “I don’t even notice I’m doing it. I guess I don’t talk about myself much in general.” Especially to hot guys who have no clue who I really am.

“Fair enough.” Alex let her off the hook with good-natured grace. “So back to that run?”

Ellie laughed. Clearly she wasn’t going to get away with keeping her distance. Not that she wanted to. She was just trying to avoid further complication. And Alex Jenner had the potential to be a rather major complication.

About the Book:

Selene sacrificed everything when she took her brother’s place as ruler of the Vyusher—including her secret love for one-time adversary Griffin Aubrey. When nightmares that are just a little too real start, Selene fears she’s turned into a cold-blooded killer…the monster Griffin thinks she is.

Griffin and Ellie Aubrey are finally safe for the first time in over a hundred years, and Griffin doesn’t want to easily forgive the woman he blames for killing his family. But when an unknown menace drives Selene to leave her people and seek their help, Griffin must decide.

Can he move past his hatred of everything she is? Or will the bond that could bring them both the greatest joy now be the source of their deepest despair?

Praise for the Hyacinth:

HYACINTH is an exciting, romantic, engaging novel with a unique and rich perspective….As with the first novel, HYACINTH’s greatest strength lies in Owen’s portrayal of women. Her heroines are both strong and capable, and they are fully able to lead their people as equals with their male counterparts. – KCunning, Amazon Top 500 Reviewer

This book contains an excellent blend of romance, close friendship, and my favorite kind of action sequences in which success depends on a whole group of characters acting closely together to defeat a common enemy. –Kate McMurry

The plot of ‘Hyacinth’ takes its reader from the heights of engaging with our favourite characters again to apprehension and fear to anticipation and then more fear and then highs and happiness and then back down with a bump! Abigail Owen makes reading, even reviewing, such a happy chore! – Kirsty Vizard, All In One Place

Abigail Owen is fast becoming one of my favourite authors, as you can probably tell by this review. I can’t wait to read the third book in the Svatura series! In the meantime, I’d highly recommend it to pretty much all readers who like a little fantasy in their everyday life. You really can’t go wrong with the Svatura series. –Carrie Slager, The Mad Reviewer

Excerpt:

“Griffin.”

Through a grey swirling mist, Griffin heard Selene’s husky voice calling his name. He realized he was dreaming.

“Go away!” he called out to the emptiness surrounding him, as he swiveled his head around looking for her.

“Griffin, please,” she pleaded.

He clenched his jaw. “You’re the one who controls dreams, Selene. You clear this up.”

“I don’t control dreams, really. I visit. Let me in, and you’ll clear it up yourself.”

The wisps of cloud and fog drifted away. Rays of sunlight broke through. Suddenly, Griffin was standing in a field of wheat with a brilliant blue sky above him. He felt no heat or cold or breeze, saw no movement and no end to the vast golden landscape. He glanced down and realized he was clothed in casual jeans and a t-shirt–similar to what he’d worn earlier that day.

“Well?” he prodded. “Come on. Show yourself.”

“I’m right here.”

Griffin spun around at the sound of Selene’s voice directly behind him. She stood placidly, adorned in a flowing, pale purple sundress that made her look delicate and sweet, the exact opposite of what he knew her to be.

Selene smiled. “Thanks for the pretty dress.” But her face froze when she caught Griffin’s hostile glare. She sighed. “Won’t you talk to me? We could always talk here…in our dreams.”

Griffin crossed his arms over his chest and scowled, attempting to disguise the fact that his silence was due in part to Selene’s beauty. She’d always taken his breath away. “But these aren’t our dreams, are they?” he muttered. “This is you invading my dream.”

“Ramsey, stop!”

He kept going.

Lila knew what she had to do. Taking a calming breath, she closed her eyes and pulled on every ounce of the power within her. She pictured a mountain stream, peaceful, cool, and soothing. Then she pushed those feelings inside Ramsey, directly into the center of his soul.

Nothing.

Desperation clawing at her, she did the only other thing she could think to. She wrapped her arms around his neck and laid her lips against his, pushing her calming effect through the more intimate connection. At first he didn’t respond, but gradually, his steps faltered, slowed, and then stopped. And the lips under hers changed from unresponsive to drugging in a nanosecond. Joy surged as he kissed her with a passion equal to the rage that had held him captive only moments earlier. He wasn’t in control. Not yet. But closer.

With a groan, he jerked back to stare down at her with wild eyes, still not fully focused. Underneath her hand she could feel the frantic beating of his heart, like a bird trapped in a cage. She reached up and took his face in her hands. He looked down, and his eyes slowly focused, recognition lit the green depths.

“Lila,” he gasped.

Praise for the Black Orchid:

Holy Grand Finale endings to a series! The fourth and final book in the Svatura series, Black Orchid by Abigail Owen is as magnetic as its startlingly beautiful cover. – Dianne, Tome Tender

I hoped for an explosive plot from Black Orchid but did not expect the one Abigail Owen presents us with. This is a story about love, family and the triumph of good over evil, in a fantasy world with shape-shifters and super powers. – Kirsty Vizard, All In One Place

This book, like all the rest, grabbed me and held me hostage until the end. The twists and turns to the plot leaves one breathless and never knowing what will happen next. Each chapter is a new surprise. –Pansy Petal

Excerpt:

“Don’t do this, Nate,” Adelaide begged in a broken whisper. “Don’t go.” She held her hand out to him imploring him to listen. To stay. She touched nothing but air.

“Talia’s my te’sorthene,” Nate said as he took a step back. “I have to go.”

Shaking started deep inside her. “I’m your te’sorthene.”

“Are you?” A cruel sneer curled his lip.

Oh, God. Please no. Adelaide engaged her ability to see relationships. The glittering red line that had always represented their connection as te’sorthene was still in place. Barely. The bond was faded and slightly frayed, but still there.

Adelaide shuddered with relief, as she desperately held onto that one remaining shred of hope.

“Goodbye, Adelaide,” Nate said. And he was gone.

With no warning the barely-there thread of the te’sorthene line connecting herself and Nate snapped. At the same time, Adelaide a wall of terror and heartbreak smashed through her and splintered her soul. Her mouth opened in a silent scream, the sound welling up from deep within.

“No!” she screamed as she fell to her knees. The hard, cold rock against her knees didn’t even penetrate her anguished sobbing. “No! No! No!”

Adelaide wrapped her arms around her stomach, rocking back and forth, trying to hold herself together as her body wracked with trembles. But nothing eased her torment. Tortured, she turned to Lila and her sister actually flinched. A dreadful, uncontrollable something built inside her, deep in the hole Nate’s abandonment had created inside her heart.

Her breath came in uneven pants. “I can’t… I can’t… Please help me,” she begged.
